Did you guys do the math?

yet another confused pf tek'er moving on to grains.

-Doc's WBS tek. (3 pint jars almost fully colonized, 3 more @ about 75%).

-Planning on casing those colonized grains (from what I've read the 60/40 coir verm casing seems to be a good choice).

-I'm going to read more on the 60/40 tek and follow that to a T. What I am puzzled about is how much of it will I need (I understand the ratio is universal to how much you need). I don't want to be wasting materials. Should I just buy like 2 containers (either tupperware or the aluminum baking trays) of some random size and do some mathematics to see how much by volume my colonized seed will cover and how much by volume 60/40 I'll need? I plan on doing a bottom layer (60/40), a middle layer (colonized grain), and a top layer (60/40).

-Going to cover that with the best lid I can find and place it in a fruiting chamber similar to ones used for pf cakes w/ perlite being my moisture source and manual FAE performed daily.

-Is the math a good idea and does this sound like a solid plan to you guys, or is there some better method that I wouldn't have been exposed to by doing searches?

Thanks for reading, and I appreciate any guidance.
