I just got Xanax prescribed for social anxiety. I took .50mg (the prescribed dose) and it did nothing for my anxiety. What gives?

ask your doctor.
any more than that and most people just get fucked up/drunk feeling.
learn how to deal with things without drugs and without feeling anxious. the xanax is supposed to help, but not cure you.

Xanax is addictive and dangerous.
I blacked out friday on a combination of xanax and a few other drugs and broke shit and pissed off my neighbors.

xanax works, some people just aren't sensetive. it's one of my favorite drugs, therapeutic or recreational. you just gotta find ya sweet spot

if xanax doesn't work, one of the many others in the benzodiazepine family might. for example, valium does absolutely nothing for me, but xanax does, they're both benzos, but what may work for some might not work for others. talk to your doctor about alternatives to xanax.

First time I used Xanax I took 0.5mg before work... I was dropping and breaking shit every 30 seconds.

LOL, ive never gone batshit on it but I remember taking up to 8 bars a day and doing really stupid things, i'd always have bruises and shit from blacking out and hurting myself.

.5 mg is a pretty low dose. But it should at least relax you a little.

i've had a hard time getting any effects from up to 1mg of xanax. but .5 klonopin does me in quite well
