Hippie junk

So we made a bunch of stuff. Some natural herbal glycerin soaps, some bath salts, and some wood burnt knick-knacks, and other junk. We wanted to sell the stuff, but have yet to find a place to sell it. Our local head-shop seemed the likely spot, but sadly they are interested in mass produced corporate junk. Any suggestions? We don't have much resources, we're pretty broke (sort of a lifelong symptom of being a hippie, apparently)

The lack of capital is a bit of a tight spot - but depending on where you live, try to find local shows that draw a heady crowd. I just came back from a Phil & Friends show last night, and there were families out there selling home made tye-dies, jewelery, art, food, beer, right there in the parking lot.
Pick the right kind of show, the crowd loves to linger before and after, which will give you a great audience for "hippie junk".

in my area there's all sorts of festivals that attract thousands, not the 3 day music fests like bonaroo, we have a large pow wow each year, there's a dozen arts/crafts shows through the warmer months, he could also exploit larger happenings like a chili cook off, camp out, make chili and sell his wares from his stand (if the rules permit it), I've seen people that travel and earn a good living doing nothing more than these events

even the straight folks love the hippie junk, there's really no limit to the events he could participate in, just tailor his products to be topical for the show

You could always set up a website. Or like one of the other posters said, eBay would be helpful.

Try your luck over at hipforums, you can have a store there or there is a for sale forum for free, but i don't think it's too active, craigs list has free listings, local flea markets tend to have reasonable booth rentals.

Yeah the festival scene(which is fvcking outrageous these days) is probably your best bet if you have like alot of stuff and could actually set up a vendor spot. Phish might be coming back soon. Hetty lot scene.
