I've been wanting to try Ayahuasca for some time now but my wife is extremely "uncomfortable" with me doing it. I don't know if it's because she'll think I'll freak out or what. She's ok with me smoking Cannabis and taking HBWR. I've tried to tell her that I've done plenty of research and I'm prepared to take the medicine. I don't want to cannonball into the Yage Realm, it'll be more like a wade up to the knees. Any thoughts on how I can calm her mind?

If it were me, I would tell her its my mind and body, I'll do what I please with it, no matter what you think.
But there is probably a reason that all the women in my life recently have been random hook-ups or NSA/friends with benefits type deals.
I don't deal well with other people having say in what I do with my life.
You could always just do it when she isn't around.

I don't think she wants to control me. She's just scared that something bad will happen. I told her she couldn't stop me from doing it but I respect her wishes. I'll keep trying though!

She´s ignorant about Ayahuasca, show her how safe it is, tell her it´s totally legal in Brazil and very widespread in south america.
If she doesn´t takes that just tell her to mind her own bizz then. :P

pfft my gf tolerates just about every psychedelic except lsd, which she has an irrational fear for
i think shes just sacred of me doing synthetics tho mostly, and she says shes only worried about my health despite my trying to pound into her head the fact that psychedelics arent nearly as damaging as people think, but i just kinda conceded cause she feels strongly about me taking lsd
i guess if i do use lsd ill tell her im on lsa or something else, cause all she knows about drugs iswhat ive told her and what she learned in dare, which ive erased a lot of

She asked me if I was scared to take it, I said "no" but I know ayahuasca is supposed to be taken as a sacrament and not as a way to "get high." Even if I never do it again, I want to try it. I know I want to use syrian rue as the maoi but I can't decide between M. hostilis or P. viridis.

a lot of people find caapi to be much more pleasant and less harsh than rue
if ur looking to avoid the purge with the rue.... good luck, the purge is an integral part of ayahuasca

I don't fear the purge, it's an integral part of any truly spiritual experience. I feel that a good purge, whether phyisical (vomiting) or emotional (crying) are great ways to clear the body.

caapi doesnt have as much of a body load and doesnt make you... for a lack of a better word, as groggy as rue does
dont let the more material irk you, you just boil it anyway
and definately p viridis for your first experience
go traditional all the way dude, p viridis+banisteropsis caapi (red if u can get it is supposed to be the best)

I'm thinking about getting the caapi seeds from BouncingBear. I know the germination quality decreases greatly after a few months but BBB is a great vendor in my past experiences with them. Anyone have any success stories from their caapi seeds?

Aya is interesting... I used it as a prelude to a guided journey and it was wonderous. Weird, but wonderous...I would do things as traditional as possible. Be sure to FAST though as the MAOI inhibitors can be dangerous otherwise...and the purging is much more "pleasant" that way. Does a better job cleaning you out...instead of emptying your stomach of its last meal it works out more of the ugly stuff that really needs purging! Don't expect to control the realms of aya like you might with some other allies...

If we´re talking about Ayahuasca we´re supposed to be using Caapi, brews made with other MAOI are actually anahuasca or pharmahuasca m´k?
BTW this is not a good time of the year for buying Caapi seeds, as you need them fresh. The seeds usually come out around september.

explain to her why you want to take the journey.
dont just leave it out in the open in her mind.
she probably thinks that you just want to trip.
and also if i were you i would explain to her how long yage has been in use and what its traditionally used for.
