I haven't been writing much music lately, but I made this over the course of about a week. I played with for about 20 minutes a day..and then tonight spent the evening finishing it up.
Anyway, I've been listening to a lot of hip-hop...kind of a reawakening interest in the genre. I'm starting to get back into actually working on beat driven tracks.
Hope you enjoy it (and also let me know where I can tighten up on.)
well they are pretty sparse, and not in the nice atmospheric way. The beat is never that interesting or varied. You should use some more sounds maybe, change the beat up, and make it more complex
I like it a lot. TheCow doesn't know what he's talking about. Thats what drums are supposed to be like in hip hop. Its not supposed to have all sorts of changes. I dunno why he would expect much more from a hip hop beat. Rappers usually don't want their beats to be complex and full of changes. They want a nice simple beat that compliments their vocals.
If anything it seems like its missing something because no one is rapping over it. I could be wrong but I don't think it was intended to be a stand alone piece of music.
not bad dude, I liked it. what program did you use to make it. I was thinking about buying something like fruity loops pretty soon to start making my own beats, but Im not sure I could learn to use it.
I think your harmonies are quite good in a minimalistic sort of way. But as it is at least, Id say it needs more emphasis/development on the rhythm, whether its someone rapping, or a more complex beat.
woops, now i see that I am just repeating what other people said. eh
