What requirements go into a pitcher earning a save? Don't google or wikipedia it, see if you know right off the top of your head.

To record a save a pitcher on the winning team must throw the last pitch in a game where the leading team is up by no more than 3 runs.

the pitches has to finish the game, for the winning team.

has to get at least an out.

cant have more then a three run lead.

Can't be the winning pitcher.

I play college ball, but i am not a close so i am sure i missed a couple.

I think you can have more than a three run lead if you pitch more than one inning or if there are men on base. If, for instance, there is a 5 run lead and two men on base with no outs the pitcher who comes into that situation and finishes will get a save. Something like that.

If you pitch the last 3 innings with the lead, you get a save. For instance, the pitcher (don't know his name) that threw the last 3 innings in Texas' 30-3 win last year got a save.

If you enter the game in the last inning with the tying run at least on deck, then you will qualify for a save.

Then of course, if you pitch the entire last inning with a 3 run or less lead then you earn a save.
