My new fruiting chamber

Greetings all, i just finished constructing my new fruiting chamber, i was going to build one with a plexiglass top but then i found this one at lowes :-)

what do you think? its nice size, center of the top is real clear, think thats enough ventilation? and does it look like i have too much polyfill ?
im hoping to fit 20 cakes in there, i have 8 in the other as you see in the picture, maybee im too hopefull
also i was considering doing a casing, i wanted to wait till i got the hang of things growing cakes, but i just had a vision while putting this thing together of it being completely filled with shrooms. I dunno.
Maybee i will wait and do a casing in the other FC after those 8 cakes are spent.
theres room in the tent for another one the size of the one i just made, if all goes well i will make another like it.

Personally, I wouldn't bother with a monotub for cakes, but I haven't tried it before. Keep us updated on how it works out

LayYouIn: polyfill because thats how i read on here to do it, says keeps the contams out... think i should ditch the polyfill and leave the vents open?
britterberry: yeah more pics later for sure
I like alkaloids: why do you say you wouldnt bother with a monotub for cakes? you say let you know how it turns out, i will, but do you think i will have problems ?
im pressure cooking perlite as we speak

You should be fine, but you will probably have to fan a little exta. I think the new thing, is putting lots of very small holes, instead of the big ones. Sinse the holes are big, you might have to have the polyfil, to maintain a decent RH.

Just curious, why are you pressure cooking perlite? It does not need to be sterile, and it won't be no matter what, after you dump it in the FC and fan a few times.

okay aborting mission sterilize perlite
just thought it would be a good idea
i guess i will try the hundreds of holes thing on my next FC
BTW i just took the polyfill out of 4 holes (2 bottom, 2 top) leaving the bubbleh on, and turned a room humidifier on inside the tent, see how this turns out with the RH after a couple hours to see if i will put the polyfill back in
any comments ?

The polyfill holes are traditionally a feature of a monotub, but when you think about it.. It could reduce the amount of work you have to do with air exchange.. Although I would still do fanning, and let experience show me if the holes are enough to stop CO2 buildup.. If i were you, i would do the first run fanning as normal, then doing a small test run , no fanning just letting the vents do their thing and seeing if you get signs of co2 buildup.. search co2 and read read read.. look for those skinny mushrooms.

I would go with the shotgun style terrarium for cakes, but you should still be ok.
