 cut etoliated pedro or let if go for the summer

i have a few pedro that got stretched out do to laziness
they have a small root system established
should i cut the tops off them now, at the beginning of the summer, so they can pup?
or should i just let them go for the summer to put on a little mass?

Sure cut them or theyīre gonna be hella ugly after they start to regrow.

do you see any problem with semi transparent pots ( chopped off gallon vinegar jugs) ?
algae or mold maybe?

I wouldnīt recommend those, not sure why but I donīt think the cacti will like it.
I think light and roots donīt mix well.

I use clear plastic cups all the time with no problem.
one thing to consider.....
when rooting certain plants in a glass of water the roots sure as hell do just fine even in direct sunlight. as long as the water is changed daily of course.
roots don't grow in the ground to escape the light
