it's bullshit. B-U-L-L-S-H-I-T. my dad is (well, was) a recovering alcoholic. my g'ma was knocked up by raging alcoholic, who's family also run the illegal liquor trade in NC back in the dry county days. once g'ma left him, she got with another alchie. raised again by ANOTHER alcoholic.
i say all this to get at, my dad has a love for booze. he's not the type guy to come home after a day of work with a 12pack, drink 3 as he eats dinner, and then drinks the other 9 over the course of 3 or 4 hours watching his favorite tv show.
he likes to do shit like go out to his friends house, get drunk, and drive home. god damn at least i'm young and a kid, if i did it it could be a learning experience.
this is his seventh or eighth time, my rents never got into it i never asked. yesterday was my chill day (off work).
i got a new xanax connection and as a few of you know im fond of my bars. after consuming a few, my day consisted of catching up on lost sleep. i have bits and pieces of chaos ensuing last night, but what happened was...
my dad was drunk, again. he has been drinking at least a 6-12pack a day for the last few weeks. prior to this, according to him, he hadn't drinken at all in over 3 months... he admitted to doing cocaine once recently to me but hey, thats that im not trying to judge.
anyway, that aside back to yesterday and my drunk ass dad driving
he ran a fucking redlight. A GOD DAMN RED LIGHT. to make things worse (well better for my dad) the cops camera was broken so he didn't record all the swerves he was doing an a+ job performing.
all in all, my dad was drunk enough to smell the budweisers on him from yards away and all he did was sway, according to my mom/the cops.
FUCK ALCOHOLICS. IF YOU CANT HANDLE YOUR GOD DAMN BEER, FUCK YOU AND DONT DRINK THE GOD DAMN SHIT.
it's been years of this for my mom and frankly, i try to not side with either of my parents in their tiffles, but this is enough. the reprocussions on his license is unknown, with this many alcohol related stops he may not be able to drive/support us. he's the main source of money as me, my bro, and sis go to school.
again, fuck alcoholism and you assholes who can't handle the shit and drink it anyway.
if you drink and you get violent or do shit, or otherwise become a dumbass/unpleasent person, stop. alcohol is not ment for some people.

e: i just wanted to vent, it was a lot less of a big deal that i made it out to be. still real fuckin lame though

I'm sorry dude. You should try to help your dad.
And by help, I mean put him through a seriously traumatic experience.
Put him in the car and tell him that your going to take him to the bar for some free drinks. Proceed directly to your local chapter of MADD (you might want to set up a meeting beforehand) and tell all the nice women about all the horrible scumbag things your father has been doing.
A heroic dose would also work. About 3 hits would be good for someone who's never tripped before (if it's truly quality). Keep him in a room and keep making him think about alcohol. It'll work. Recidivism after LSD therapy is pretty low. If he relapses, do it again.
The fact that he has no control over when he trips should terrify him into not relapsing.
Edit: By the way thanks for speaking out against drunk driving. I know too many people that have died or been seriously fucked up because of it. Those people are seriously the scum of the earth.
OOH! I thought of something else. You know in driving school where they show people all those nasty pictures of people dead on the side of the road from drunk drivers? Show him those EVERY DAY.
