it might be the funniest political film this season unseating

Drug prohibition is a tragedy, but a more accurate statement would be "Stupidity kills". The laws, unjust as they may be, are set in stone and, if you get busted, you deal with the consequences. She took the risk and couldn't handle the consequences, thus, she somehow felt it worth it to take a much greater risk. She gambled and she lost; twice. Hopefully some good comes from it in the way of reform, regarding informant programs at the very least, but her death is no fault but her own.
Consenting to be an informant sucks.
