 science AND technology???

why is science and technology thrown in together? technology is the filthy bastard child of pure science and although they are well and truly related i feel they oughtta be separated.
science should apply to biology, chemistry and physics, not to technology.
does anyone else feel this way? i don't want come to the science thread and discuss bloody computers. i'm on one dammit, no need to talk about them!

Why? If they are "well and truly related", why would you want to separate them?

But science DOES apply to technology, very much so!

We have a chem and pharmacology forum which can pretty much cover the life sciences and chemistry. I don't know if you are too new to see the chem forum, you might need to be here 30 days or something. Maybe that would help placate you?
I agree though, there isn't enough traffic to justivy a sepperate forum for just science. Chem and pharm (which nobody knows what the hell it is apparently considering they post these questions everywhere buy this forum) is an exception w/ a decent amount of posting.

ya i know about the chem forum. i was hoping for a purely biology forum, but mycology is great anyway. that's why i'm here after all! oh well, maybe i should make a concerted effort to bring biology into it more

I wouldn't like a separate sci and tech forum. If I wanted to talk about directly converting heat into electromagnetic energy, is that theory or if I go on to show Tesla's pyromagnetic patent, does it become technology? It'd do my head in trying to decide between the two.
