I'm pretty sure that I'm a moron compared to most of the people who work there.

at NASA...i would think not...remember they did loose a satellite because they mocked it up partly in standard measurements, partly in metric, then when they looked for it, it was nowhere to be found, since they didn't convert metric and standard numbers correctly...pretty idiotic.

It was Lockheed Martin who made that error (not using metric which is standard at NASA), but NASA should have found the error before launch....
It mainly shows the american failure to use the metric system.
Here is a map of all countries that do not use the metric system:

Liberia and Myanmar? One country's insane and isolationist and the other was founded by the US.
I honestly thought there was more.
If it makes you feel better, all my tools are metric.

That map is inaccurate. We use imperial units where I live and it isn't marked in red on your map.

Well, we all speak different languages in Europe... That's probably worse. It's about time we, in Europe, convert to English.

Sorry dood, I am an old school engineer, the metric system sucks....
The British use imperial units for their packaging volumetric capacities.... At least the ones I worked on....

I disagree. You aren't that old.
Actually, I prefer metric for almost everything. The only metric use that annoys me are temperatures used for weather. The Fahrenheit scale has more accuracy than the Celsius scale. I know what 86F feels compared to 84F, but in Celsius, I have to play with fractions (28.88C, etc).

I am not that old, but, I learned on the board all the way thru high school and college, and thru the first 2 or so years in my industry.... "Old school" to me is drawing with a chuck lead pencil and a compass set on a sheet of vellum taped to a drafting board with a parallel blade or a drafting machine (arm).... Mylar sheets were exiting as I was entering, but I have worked on those too.... Most of the soon to be future draftsmen/engineers might not ever know what a drafting tool is - outside of a computer.... I have a 4-5" diameter tape ball somewhere that is made out of ONLY the 1" long pieces of tape used to tape drawings to the boards....
Yeah, anyways, I am stuck in a mindset that measures in inches and feet, and I am stubborn about it....

Old "technology"...!
Yeah, I don't have them on display, but I still use some of my equipment when I am drawing my abstract art with pencil and paper.... Still use tha chuck lead pencil and sandpaper pads to sharpen it, though I very seldom sharpen my pencil.... I have quite a few old goodies, and some pretty cool templates and such.... If we ever run out of power, this stuff will come in handy, and I know how to use them.... Well yeah, not like it's hard to learn, but.....
