Stimulus Check Question
    #8372258 - 05/07/08 08:44 AM

I was late to turn in my local taxes but I had my Federal and State filed and I got my refund the week after I got my W-2's. I'm supposed to have my direct deposit by the 9th according to the schedule but I heard they were doing it early and I haven't received it yet. Are they waiting on my local taxes to clear or do I already qualify for the rebate?

You should already qualify. They did start processing the FIRST set of Social Security numbers early, but this did not impact the subsequent sets. If you were in the second set of numbers, your rebate check will still be processed by the 9th.

I to am seriously stressing over getting my rebate check asap. I did direct deposit and am in the by the 9th group as well but every day that goes by is one more day im late for rent! (Due to other mistimed money matters, not relying on this check specifically)

What sucks is I start a new job on the 19th, and get my first check the 5th but until then I am incomeless so I have to sell my nice plasma to make the in between and the first 2 weeks of work unless I can REALLLLY stretch this incentive check, which I doubt. :frown:

Well big surprise, its FUCKING LATE. If it's even coming at all. It won't give me the status online, says unable to determine status. It was supposed to be in before today. I was really fucking counting on this shit GOD DAMMIT. I can't even reach the IRS to figure this out either, their "call volume" is too high. Fuck this government.

Actually, it is supposed to be in no later than May 9 if you are in the second group of SS numbers. Depending on your bank, they may not recognize the direct deposit until the end of business today. If you have not called your bank yet, I'd try that before jumping to conclusions.

No I managed to finally get through to the IRS. The reason I didn't get it yet is because I used Turbo Tax for my direct deposit. Since they use a different bank my direct deposit defaulted to a paper check and I have to wait till June 6th or later. I'm so pissed off, I'm never using that shit again. I needed this money right NOW.

I used Turbo Tax to file, also. How did this delay your rebate? Mine was deposited this morning.

She asked if I used software to file and I said yes. Then she asked if I had them take the payment out of my refund and I said yes. She told me that their bank is the default bank attached to my direct deposit, and that it forced my stimulus check to get sent in the mail. This isn't my best subject.

Oh, I get it. I didn't have a payment deducted from my refund, so the Direct Deposit went straight to my bank.
