I see no problems other than it's quite unstable. You'll want to do the milking in front of your flowhood, and milk into sterile jars.
The commercially available venom from Sigma Scientific is freeze dried and shipped frozen.

It's a pretty intensive clearing process before they'll let you order purified venom. You'll have to be 'interviewed' by at least three different people, one of whom I suspected was law enforcement. Think about it. . .it's the perfect murder weapon.

Ok, so the venom is probably going to be a long time waiting. There is another thread in which somebody is suggesting the use of Salicylic acid. It's cheap and plentiful without all the hassle of venom. But... does it work? I have no idea, but somebody out there has the impression that it does.
Does anybody know?

the only way to keep it stable for extended lengths of time is freeze-drying and low temps. i posted this in another venom thread, the active compounds in rattlesnake venom are proteases that chew up proteins, but being proteins themselves they "auto-digest" (think auto-immune diseases) and slowly degrade themselves to zero activity. but , i remember seeing videos on snake venom banks where they pull liquid from fridge-looking things, so who knows. perhaps you could call up one such place and ask about storage. look into buying a lyophilizer (free-dryer), but you need liquid nitrogen to do this.

Well then if you haven’t done your research then why the hell are you talking... No one cares of you think its crap because if you took oh I don’t know... 45 seconds and searched you could see it’s got a rather significant role in mycology. Maybe not cultivation, but the genetic part when it comes to strain or species crossing absolutely. Not that I know much myself but I do know it has a role and more than anything I know not to voice my opinions about things I know jack shit about. Just my 2cents...

After being away for a couple years, I'm amazed by all the new info.
Snake venom hybrids? Magnificent, haha
I'm gonna look into salicylic acid instead though, since it appears it may be able to be used for the same purpose.
I wonder how realistic a weilii/cubensis hybrid would be?

Nicotinic Acid (niacin) has also been used in fungal crossing. Just make sure its actually nicotinic acid because alot of places use "flush-free" niacin which is usually Inositol hexaniacinate.
