Fuck religion. Embracing love and the infinite beyond is useless when the love and infinite are abstractions separated from the reality around you that allow logistical leaps to kill others for their simple thoughts. Spirituality is NOT religion, and the two should NEVER be confused or used synonymously as it is unfair to reason/logic-based pursuit of true significances.
Note : This is NOT meant as a personal attack against the poster quoted above. That post was used to illustrate the
implicit conflict between any real spiritual pursuit looking ahead and the religious superstitions and ideals holding us back. These two are confused often and need to be made distinct at every opportunity. These confusions lead to prejudice which leads to culture disavowal which leads to prohibition of 'morally inept' behavior which leads to these sorts of sites for those of us who may find ourselves here.
The fact that these policies are enacted by lobbies of others who feel for reasons of holy duty to imprison those of such sins deeply effect the lives of many of us. Maybe if the Church would stay the fuck out of my life it would be an option to stay the fuck out of their ridiculous, arrogant, worldviews and the perpetuation of such. Alas, this is not the prerogative of any such institution.

Your preconceived notion of absurdity has no bearing on faith. Considering that modern science is ultimately based on a fallacious doctrine (Cartesian logic, the origin of which [or rather, the justification for] was the fallacy "I think therefore I am"), I no longer see any reason to write myself off to it. So many people are obsessed in factual truth, to the extent that they make it their sole pursuit of soul; to me, that is absurd.
