Anybody know anything about SIM cards?

So somebody stole my phone today...it was an AT&T blackjack II. I already got a new phone and a SIM card but i was wondering if the phone would even work anymore with a new SIM card after i reportit stolen and is there any way i could even catch this guy?

i doubt youll ever catch the person who stole your cell phone. cell phones really arent really the cops top priority.
but yes, all you have to do is put in your sim card (as long as its active) into any at&t phone and it will work. so your old phone is now someones new phone.

Not sure about GSM and Sim cards, but a lot of networks require a phone to be activated. There are serial numbers on the phone which are used to do this (ESN #).
This is why a lot of ebay and craigslist phones advertise "Clean ESN".
Does the Blackjack II have GPS? There are programs available where you can send the phone a text, and get back the location of the phone without the user knowing.
