How many shrooms is too many shrooms?
    #8370144 - 05/06/08 06:44 PM (5 months, 5 days ago)

I have been eating these things since 1980 off and on.

I really don't notice any mental degradation and I have been eating them alot recently over the past six months, like a quarter to two quarters a weekend or every other weekend.

However I do know this guy that has been eating the shit out of them for the past year and a half and doesn't function too well anymore.

Shit who knows maybe he was messin with a few other things as well off and on,but the most hallucinogenics I`ve seen him do has been shrooms.

He says "Its not like I`m doin a bunch of acid".And I ask him "then how did you get so fucked up?".

Hmmmm....so how long can you actually eat B+ consistently before
you start to stop functioning? And is it permanent.

Just keep eating mushrooms every weekend, and you'll get there before too long!

Edit: And although it may not be permanent, it might take you many years to recover from eating mushrooms so much. I'm talking from experience, I used to take psychedelics way too far, too much and it made me quite dull.

Anyone who takes shrooms is a danger to society and should be admitted to a psychiatric facility ASAP.

Please seek help immediately.

Here's how I would explain it:

Every time you trip, you don't really come down for a little while. So you basically have to give you brain a chance to completely return to its normal operating system and integrate what it learned. In my opinion, two to three weeks is a good enough time period. If you trip way too often, your brain never really resets. Slowly but surely, your thoughts never really leave their tripping patterns. Stay that way long enough and I think it leaves you pretty fucking scatterbrained and useless in any traditional academic sense.

I don't really think it's the psilocybin that does it to you, I think it's the experience itself. Obviously the chemical isn't at fault; it's all but proven not to be neurotoxic. I just think that an experience like that kind of reshuffles your brain, and you have to give it a chance to sort itself out.

Im not sure of the effects of shrooms after a long couse of time, but generally speaking abusing anything in general can be bad. Dont get me wrong, im a user of a few things, and im for legalization, but too much is a no no.

Is there any concrete evidence of P./C damage to the neural receptors of the brain?
Everyone here seems to function quite well.

There's no concrete amount. Some people have the mental ability to trip every week and be just fine. Some people can't. It's all about you.

i ate 5-6 dried grams of cubensis every other week for a year straight. i took a couple breaks that were like 3-4 weeks and sometimes i ate week after week.

i probley could have done that for the rest of my life without any problems.

even though your mind comes down from them, and it's out of your system, you still might have mental shit going on. which is why it's a good idea to wait.

how is this guy you know, not able to function?

I think a lot of the people who are supposedly burnt out from too much acid or shrooms are actually burnt out from other chemicals they take along the way.
