Posing an idea: If one were to fill a sterile syringe w/ sterile water, then flame the needle shortly before sticking it into a colonized PF cake, and then inject the sterilized water into the inside of the cake and draw it back out- would one then be able to use the said syringe to inoculate some bulk rye grain? And would that pose any problems to the cake?
