ok so i inoculated 2 brf jars with shaggy lc and theyre done now do u guys think i should crumble and case it w/ some wood chips, soil,and manure, or just try to fruit them off the cakes?

Spawn to pasteurized manure if you got it. Don't forget that shaggys require a thick casing also. I Doubt you'll get very far trying to fruit them off of cakes. I have been unsuccessful in my attempts at doing so. They will more than likely enjoy the manure the best. I hear that wood chips and sawdust is a poor fruiting substrate alone. If you do anything with them mix them in with the manure. I wish you the best of luck and don't forget that they need to be cold shocked.

How thick are you putting your casing layer. I tried an inch and half inch in my last go.

I did a 2 inch peat casing. I wanted to make as much moisture available as I could to support the fruiting. I am sure a 1.5 inch casing will be good enough.
