Hi completely new to the site and have no exxperience with mushrooms besides an Amsterdam vacation. These Mushrooms were found on a neighbours front lawn and he claims to have eaten them for a very pleasent result.[image] [/image][image] [/image][image] [/image][image] [/image]
The environment- they were found in front lawn in typical suburbia over in Sydneys southern suburbs. With big eucalypt nearby. The gills- were mustard yellow on the larger ones they were full of water whilst the smaller ones were light brown. The Cap - They were a reddish brown marbled throughout a bit darker on the larger ones. The Stem - Similar to the cap. with more lighter brown throughout. Spore Print - Have tried but not sure if acurate mushrooms were old when given.. Light Brown similar to stem. Bruising- This is what got me excited when torn or snapped the healthy specimens I had bled bright blue almost straight away. Found in Sydney South NSW Aust.. Any help appreciated hope photos and description Okay. Am going looking for Mushrooms this weekend so will post results.

Your neighbor is stretching the truth...those look like a Boletus species, not active. One give away is the tubes, or spongelike surface instead of your standard gills.

yeah some Boletes bruise blue but the blueing isn't due to psilocybin. He might have eaten them, some Boletes are edible, but the ones that bruise blue usually aren't - or at least they make you sick.

I'd say they are definitely Passionfruit aurantica.
