Thank you for finding the key to the mind in the realm of possibilities, and bringing it into the world of Man.
Thank you for transforming my mind, our minds, and the world entirely.
Your Soul departed from us, it is needed elsewhere.
Danke, Herr Doktor.

Interesting, I had just went to visit Erowid for the first time in ages yesterday (in preparation for a mescaline experience), and was looking through the signed blotter art they have available for a $5000 donation to the site. It's interesting to me, how as one partner passes, it seems that more often than not, the other will soon follow (Albert's wife passed in December 2007). My many thanks, appreciation, and admiration to him and his countless contributions to human knowledge and experience.
Shit 5000$? I have a lot of stuff signed by Shulgin, Ott, Leary, Hofmann... am I rich then?

Not really, but shit, I might get a good bite out of my 100th anniversary blotter art signed by some of the top psychedelic experts in the world
I will always treasure my signed copy of Hofmann's book tho. He signed it for my mother about 15 years ago when they first met but I couldn't get him to sign it again when I met him
You had to meet the man in real life to understand how much of an "aura" he had.

I suddenly became strangely inebriated. The external world became changed as in a dream. Objects appeared to gain inrelief; they assumed unusual dimensions; and colors became more glowing. Even self-perception and the sense of time were changed. When the eyes were closed, colored pictures flashed past in a quickly changing kaleidoscope. After a few hours, the not unpleasant inebriation, which had been experienced whilst I was fully conscious, disappeared. what had caused this condition? - - Albert Hofmann - - Laboratory Notes (1943)
I'm not sad about Dr. Hofmanns passing, perhaps im so immersed in study that im not giving it much thought. Regardless, his life was full, and impacted all humanity. His life will be celebrated by many, maybe not today, or tomorrow, but his life will be celebrated by many.

wow I'm late on the news...this is so sad.
He lived a long and happy life though.
Good bye you wonderful human being

Pull your chin up and just keep sailing,
Keep looking and living with heart.
Another great hero and explorer of inner space. Thanks for your immense contributions to all psychonauts and for your persistence and courage to see beyond the box and truly appreciate the beauty of creation. A true scientist, let alone self-actualized human being you were, Sir Hofmann. See you on the otherside.

Wow, thats pretty cool. So you actually got to meet him! Where? Psychedelic forum? Details would be interesting.
FYI: I was on the Chapel of Sacred Mirrors website and saw this:
Please join us for a Memorial service to honor the life of Dr. Albert Hofmann Saturday, May 3rd from 6:30p.m. until 8:30 p.m. at the Chapel of Sacred Mirrors.
In memory of Hofmann, I sported my LSD molecule shirt yesterday. I got so many people asking wtf I was wearing... And I explained that the creator of LSD died the day before and for some reason everyone understood. They had plenty of questions for me (not acid users) but it went over well.
