So.. Its been raining a fair bit over the last few days and the temperature is dropping significantly.. Looks like a good start to the season.
Anyone planning any hunting trips in the near future? I haven't had a look anywhere yet but plan to soon.

The only mushrooms I have found in adelaide this year, are the yellow, rough texture cap (has gills underneath), thick stem and looks to only grow from the base of cut stumps.
Anything else, seems to have been majorly screwed by that heatwave we had.
but then again, technically its still TOO EARLY.

I went back to the pines again and found a broken mountain bike trail so there was scrap wood from that and many pine needles.
I found these growing out of wood and pine needles, they were actually underneath a layer of pine needles. They were in clusters.
Pics are bad... camera battery was dead and refused to take more pictures.

Its been raining for a few days straight... and it sure is getting bloody cold so we might be lucky soon enough.
I might check out some local areas today, just to see if theres ANYTHING at all happening.

the SA season has begun, I found one earlier today (Saturday 3/5) in a pine forest. didn't take no photos but I made a short movie, will post it later...
edit: OK here is a screen capture, the movie is too large to post

edit: took a photo on Saturday's Advertiser for proof

Found HEAPS of different kinds today. Was unable to take pictures of them in their habitat and now they are just crushed / slightly drying. Found some clusters of them on a hillside in a reservoir. There were some from grassy dense areas and others from pine forests.
Gotta get a camera of my own.
Edit: Pictures coming 5/5/08 - Not sure about actives.. but im positive the larger ones are Laughing Gyms tho.

Gyms are pretty awful, good to look at and try to identify, not much use otherway unless you're desperate. Looks like it might be worth a wander in a few dank spots in the coming week or so.
