I do not recall any sustantial veils on fall fruiting ovoideocystidiata.
I have only found a single fall fruit in the wild, and it did not have much of annulus.

Have extensive mating studies been conducted with the lignicolous Psilocybe species?

I don't think so. Have any mating studies been conducted with ligicolous Psilocybe species?

Yes, but I don't know how well documented they have been. Some "amateurs" (if you want to call them that, considering mating tests are some what advanced) have done mating studies with Psilocybe species.
About 2 or 3 weeks ago my friend did a mating experiment with an unidentified spring fruiting Psilocybe from Washington, and the unidentified spring fruiting species I mentioned in my last post above. They built a border between each other, a mycelium wall. Here are photos from over a week ago, of one of the plates. Since then, the border have become far more pronounced.
