New Pickups for my guitar. Any suggestions?

The pickups on my Jackson (EMG HZs) recently started making a kind of flapping noise when I'd strum, so I assume one of the coils came loose, or broke. So, in short, I'm looking to get some new pickups.
These EMG HZs sounded like utter shit from the first day I got the guitar, and I've been waiting for a reason to put something better in it. I've got a great effect pedal that does some *wonderful* amp modeling, so an upgrade of pickups hasn't been necessary until now.
I'm looking for a good, rich metal tone. I've done a bit of research online and found that EMG 85 are good for such, but I'm just curious what some of you other players use. I go to Guitar Center quite often just to play the stuff they have on display, and have been partial to the Seymour Duncans as of late.
So, anyone have any recommendations?
Note: Sound/video clips would be -wonderful-, along with an explanation of what your setup is.

I have the Kerry King EMG set in my Jackson Warrior and trust me that axe screams. I have turn the guitar volume down half way to get a clean sound out of. The set consists of an EMG 85 at the bridge and the EMG 81 at the neck. At least I think that is where they are they might be the other way around. THis set is exactly like the Zack Wylde set besides one small thing. It includes a 20db boost so you can get a really nice overdrive effect on clean or an awesome solo boost with super gain and sustain with some sort of distortion pedal.
I need a new guitar myself. I am slowly starting to go away from metal and right now that warrior is the only guitar that I have. THose pickups are way too hot to be playing anything more laid back but it works for now. I think I might pick up a PRS or something next.

Man, I'd say a high output Seymour Duncan is the route to go. They have samples of just about all their pups somewhere on their website. Some popular ones would be the Duncan Custom pickups, Distortion, and the JB.
Here's a link though, showing more of their high output pickups

Korg GK-3 Hexaphonic pickup! This pickup turns any regular guitar into a synth controller.
