 For those posting "is it illegal" questions, just an fyi

When you ask "is it illegal to sell/do" x, it should be a rule that you must give your location, state at least if you're in the US.
Their is no "law" their are many laws. Don't ask what the law is if you don't say where you're from, or put your location as "magical fairy land".
Also, pretty much everything is illegal re: drugs. Paraphanalia laws are expansive and usually include testing, producing, managing, weighing, and sometimes storing.
Also, conspiracy and intent laws allow pretty much anything to be prosecuted having to do with drugs. In my state, and at federal law, this includes using foster's beer to try to make LSD. Trying to do this, or even determining you will do this, and buying the beer, or just agreeing to at federal law, is illegal and you can be sent ot jail as if you'd have made LSD, or slightly less, depending on the law.
Just an fyi.
But seriously, don't ask what the law is if you don't say where you are.

I believe the analogue law (at least in Canada anyways) defines an anologue as something chemically similar to (all things are related chemically somehow) or acts in a similar manner to (i.e. intoxicant) an illegal drug, for all legal intents and purposes, is that illegal drug.
So that means any psychoactive substance can be brought under that law, if they really want to.

In the US there must be two tests met, via the caselaw on an unclear statute:
1) THe structure must be similar to a scheduled drug
2) THe effects, or claimed effects, must be similar to a scheduled drug or greater, and the substance must be intended for human consumption

Sasha Shulgin has some interesting things to say about the [Federal Analog Act] [here] at 00:48:55.
One of those things that made me  when I heard it, but wasn't really surprising.

He tells a tale of being an expert witness where he couldn't answer the question "what is substantially similar" w/ regard to effects or structure.
And some other expert witness said it was commonly known that something is substantially similar if it is "50%" similar, whatever that means. under that definition, benzene is substantially similar
That law is stupid, and it should be rewritten.

Too true.
I especially "enjoyed" when Sasha comments on the fact that there are numerous theoretical substances that, while not even in existence yet, will instantly become illegal the moment they are achieved.
Like everything else in the War on Drugs, the Federal Analogue Act is an overreaching bunch of bullshit.
