If they bruise to a dark bluish color it's a pretty good sign. They look similar to the subs i found. What UNI did you find them at, wonder if theres any at mine :p. Nice find, have fun!

It is great that there are mushrooms being found. I am still waiting for my new patch to fruit. That is of course if it will. Quote:

I found some that looked like the first ones. The gills are attached to the stem if i remember rightly.. They had me fooled fromt the top.

Got them under a fan with a heater on in my bedroom. Not the quickest way, but i dont have the cash for a dehydrator. Been under there for about 1.5 hours and the small ones are already near cracker dry. Bigger ones will take a bit longer but even if they aren't 100% dry, they should be dry enough to prevent mold until the weekend.

Took a stroll through my park today not expecting to find anything but happened across a nice handful of these babies.
The season is sure off to an early start.

I just saw this the other day at melb uni, they have filled this pond with delicious mulch, presumably because of the drought. Someone needs to get in there with a water pistol and spore it for the sake of future generations!

Eh, thats not the type of mulch i'd be looking for. You want the big greyish/brown woodchips.

Hey could anyone identify these
the blue on the stalks was there before picking. And if they are active what would the recommended dosage for a first timer be?

They have all the hallmarks of P. subaeruginosa, do a spore print to confirm. Should be purplish/brown.

You'll need to give more info than that in future if you want a proper ID on here, but first cab off the rank - they do look like subs to me. Similar to the ones i find anyway, but that is just from a visual aspect. You'll want to take a spore print of these to be sure. The spores should be quite dark purple.
