Oh this is all so exciting! Great pics. We truly are the lucky country. I found some charming little A. muscaria on my last hunt in Sydney suburbs. Sure they're not subs but if I will say one thing in defense of the fly agaric; they taste FUCKING AMAZING. I dried, powderized and made a tea, and by Albert Hofmann's ghost, they were FUCKING DELICIOUS. They taste almost exactly like miso soup. Small doses for breakfast are a great way to start the day. Anyway hopefully a beautiful season is upon us.

I found these in a different patch today... all bruise blue/purple-brown spores. They're much larger, thicker stipe etc. than those small frail ones found in my first patch. Can tryptamine content vary with any significance patch-to-patch? Do you think these more 'plump' specimens could be more potent per gram (not per shroom) than the puny thin-stipe ones I found elsewhere? Also, the mushroom on the lower-left is partially decayed or something, is it mould or just rot and in any case, is it safe for consumption? I'd rather not throw it out if possible...

Hey rift3r, not sure what you mean by tryptamine; the active chemical in shrooms is psilocybin. It's concentrations have more to do than the size of the mushroom though.
Soil nutrition and other environmental factors are more important.

No visuals really. Just shitloads of energy, very very happy and very relaxed. Best thing was the silence of internal chatter. Couldn't sleep for ages coz I was so happy :smile:. Really well suited to winter too because it warms you up. Obviously dosage is critical with any substance, but I've found its particularly important with A. muscaria.

There is such a huge difference between a small dose and a big one. Unfortunately too many people have strong doses, and haven't prepared them right, giving the shroom its bad name. I personally prefer small doses of A. muscaria eventhough I think it does have potential to produce amazing experiences in bigger doses. But if I want a big windy trip I'd go elsewhere. I think A. muscariawould make a really good substitute for coffee in modern society as a morning pick-me-up :sun:

Potency can vary from patch to patch, from region to region, but i don't know if size/thickness has anything to do with it. You should take all your current finds, ID them individually then dry and grind them up together so that the potency evens itself out.

The bottom left one looks fine.. its only slightly rotted but properly dried it should be fine.

Yes it does vary depending on conditions. I tend to find that the smaller nice looking ones pack the bigger punch IMO.
Yeah that bottom one looks fine.

Tryptamine is an alkaloid found in pretty much most plants, some fungi and even animals, psilocybin, DMT etc being a good example. Even in synthetic drugs like LSD. I know theres a shit load of Tryptamine in the Acacia plant. Did anyone ever go to happy high herbs and get that stuff called "Dreamtime" or "Pao D'Arco" that you smoke? They dont really sell it anymore but its a bong mix, the main content being Acacia, the strong shit when smoked releases serotonin in the central nervous system which gives you the trip along with the acacia itself. Serotonin is also the tryptamine chemichal that gets released within your CNS just before you die, which gives the "calming effect".
I found the Pao D'arco pretty intense :crazy: Lol but an experience none the less... The dreamtime not being so intense.

I found two dif. mushrooms yesterday, they both bruised a color that atleast resembled blue, looked similar to what ive learnt to be subs from this site.. but not exactly, like the gills for instance, which is why i wasnt to excited :lol:. spore printed them over night, ones print was very white, the 2nd was oak brown. Ive already thrown them out as Im only looking for the purple/black prints :grin:
anyway just added a bit more experience to my never ending adventure :awesome:

It was probably a clit (Clitocybe odora) theyre similar in some aspect to the sub, theyre mainly a lightish blue and alot of people think that these are active because of it, but theyre not. They also have white gills. Non toxic either, but theyre pretty smelly Lol and no it dont smell like fish hahaha;)

Hey Undergrounder!

Why are people on here worring if the shroom is dired? DO they loose their potency when they dry up?

Say i found some subs and wanted to keep them for couple months i heard its best to dry them out on a low heat etc then put them in an iar tight bag and thus they last which is y i dont understand people comments about hope they are still fresh>

So do dried shrooms loose their magic? y are people like i hope thier not dried etc

dried mushrooms will, over time, lose their potency, especially in the presence of oxygen and sunlight. keeping them dried in fine, but you want to keep them in an airtight bag in a cool, dark place. the freezer is a good place. or if you wanted you could hermetically seal them.

^^^I recently had my most hardcore trip ever which was from dried shrooms kept in a paper bag from last season. No loss of potency at all as far as I can tell.

Wish i could say the same. About 2 months ago i still had 1 and a half ounce bags full from say last august, me n some mates ate a handfull of them each and felt nothing but a light buzz. I thought i stored em well but obviously not good enough... This year im gonna try capping them and see how that stores. Ive heard only good things about capping them.
