Yeah it was friggin cold today! Was pissing down at work too. Looking good

Just my half of that find managed to get 4 people including myself trollied no problem! i think i gave my friend too much for his first time. He ate around 10 of them i think and ended up spewing and sweating heaps. He has no clue about shrooms and thought i had poisoned him, but told him i am triple checking everything i find especially if im going to give them to friends  :grrr: Took about half an hour till he felt better, then tripped off his nut lol. He ate one of the skankier looking ones with black bits on it. Could it have just been a spot of rot that got him, or just too much for first time?

Anyway, the other 2 guys had about 5 each and were tripping mean balls. Was best night ive had in ages :discorex:

I found eating nature-dry/rotting shrooms to be a bad idea. Unless you enjoy spewing and generally feeling like a good ol low down cunt ofcourse, which I sure as hell do sometimes . I found different psychological effects too (different as in bad), especially with shrooms I found that were probably too blacky and dry to eat. But I had been hunting for 5 hours after a 2hr drive and I was taking what I could get.

Haha i hear that. I would too. I probably am less picky with my shrooms than most too as ive only just started to find them. If i see a sub, it has to be in pretty bad condition or pinning for me to leave it lol.

More finds today in my local, extremely public spot. Didnt turn out too bad even though they had re-landscaped the entire area since the weekend. Lots of stomped on shrooms though :grrr:

Pics:

I call this next one 'The Bean Shroom'

Many from this spot are quite mong looking. Some caps joined etc

Another nice one and some drying...

Not bad i guess! These are the best (well, largest) shrooms ive found from this spot so far. This weather is treating Sydney well

Awesome finds dude! I may have stumbled upon a gold mine myself. A huge sub patch in suburban Sydney:eek:! Like I'm talking Sydney Sydney. I think its the crazy weather early in the week. It was pretty much mountain weather. Usually there are just shitloads of strophs, but there was a new patch today. Its a big mulchy garden but its in a very very public area and security was about so I only had a chance to cut one. Bruising is right so I could be in the moneys. I'm going to go back tonight for a midnight raid. I'll do the prints and get some pics up here asap. Some second opinions IDing would be appreciated

Ok fellas. This is what I've turned up. I'm feeling pretty fucking good about these. But I'm just in such disbelief given where I found them, so some reassurance would be appreciated.

Habitat: Wood mulch (next to a shit load of strophs)
Gills: Same colour as cap, yellowy white, with black/blue bruising
Cap: Flattish in some specimens, but mainly conical (like a lil nipple)
Spore print: Coming...
Bruising: Black/blue bruising, especially on underside of cap and a bit on the stem.

Subs?

Damn, you're up late. Ohhh, that's right, you went on a midnight hunt.

Yep, they look like subs. Just make sure they all have brown/purple spores prints and all bruise blue.

wow. I ate two o those suckers to test the waters. Two fucking tiny shrooms (bout as big a 5c). I was expecting very little (as the last trips I've had I've eaten a lot more) but i was good and sideways for a solid 4 hours. Its so bizarre in comparison to other psycadelics (e.g. acid) how the trip just ends almost flat. On the inhale i was fucked, but on the exhale I was straight as a kinda crooked daisy

Hey Guys,

New to this forum (first post).

Living in Inner West area, Sydney. Can anyone point me in a good direction for hunting?

I've never been able to get my hands on any shrooms, I figure I should just find 'em myself.

I live pretty close to Sydney Park, would that be a good place to start??

Regards.

yeah man, for sure, pick any park in Sydney and give the woodchip beds a look... i was thinking of checking that area the other day. Don't be discouraged if you don't find any at first, just keep hunting. If you see Stropharia aurantiaca (reddish orange mushrooms with brown/purple gills), you're on the right track.

get yourself a food dehydrator, i picked mine up for $80  it was $100 but i haggled with the woman for a little while lol I got mine from Bing Lee THIS ONE HERE
it has 3 heat settings the lowest is around 30 degrees, you can dsable the heating element if you want.
All tho i dry mine on the lowest setting and there was no noticble loss in potency. However on number 2 setting there was a loss and the mushrooms started to blue up a fair bit, so dont use setting 2.

You can also make beef jerky like i been doing on setting 3

We are new to mushroom hunting, had a quick squitzy today but we guess the conditions were'nt right. Can anybody tell us how long after rain would be the best time to look, and if the bushland on the north shore of Sydney is worth a crack. There is alot of bush around here, ranging from creeks, thick eucalypt bushes, various other shrubbery, lots of rocks, sandy fire trails etc etc. By Sydney's North Shore we mean the vast stretch of bush between the Hornsby area and all the way up to Lane Cove national park.

Best time for hunting hands down is the first significant rain of late Autumn/early Winter. But there still might be a few around, if you so go into bush, concentrate on the wettest areas... trails by creeks and in gullies would be infinitely better than ones on sandy ridges.

Do you reckon any would fruit just because they are near a creek which is already in a gully? Or would they still need a decent rainfall. Sorry we are hunting noobs. Sydney forecast looks sunny too ):

Would need decent rain but some could still be around, decent habitat to grow in (woodchips, bark mulch - good areas are the bases of large trees where bark piles collect, eucalypts are good), needs to be cold enough. Its getting warmer, which aint looking good. They're still around though. Had one decent weekend a couple of weeks back, after a few days of freezing cold and fairly wet weather.

I didnt know shit about shrooms till about a month ago. you can find all the info you want by reading the forums on this site. Use search if you think its a noob question, it has already been asked most likely. Im learning so much from here, this site is awesome.

Good luck hunting!
