Yeah mate, that's a shame, but as long as you had a nice walk, that's always good.
And everyone, i'm back, checked around lane cove national park, didn't see any, probably because by the time it took me to get there, it was becoming dark, and very cold. I'll check tommorow and keep you informed.
Goodluck to everyone else.

Yeah undergrounder, I wouldn't bother, I was squelching around Lane Cove national park when I realised that it is. Give it time to warm up me thinks, hopefully some more fruits will appear next week.

nah the temperature is fine, subs don't grow in temps any warmer than it is now... the colder the better. Good to hear it's still kind of wet out there though.. If you're out and about in the LCNP or the KRNP, be on the look out for Hygrocybes, small red/yellow/orange/green/purple/white mushrooms that grow in the moister areas. They're very rare, so any significant finds would be very cool.

Hey Undergrounder and others, yeah it ain't very wet round here.. never seems to rain! And when it does, it's pretty poor amounts..
I try to look in moist areas, but I feel the areas I look that ARE moist are ALWAYS moist.. and perhaps too moist / too close to water? I've always found when hunting that shrooms tend to grow on hills rather than at the bottom of valleys where a river may be.
I wish it would rain.. like Melbourne... 4 seasons in one day

Don't say that! Patience and persistence will get you there, and eventually you'll find a huge mother patch. Then you'll be stoked. Keep it in mind.

I, like in the pics muzz posted one page back, seem to only be able to find stropharia aurantiaca mushrooms.
Are stropharia aurantiaca an indicator that subs might be around? Or am i looking in the wrong places? I have been on 5 hunts and still can only find those damn orange shrooms!!

Yeah beens, I'm only finding aurantiaca's around the place, and I wouldn't know if they're an indication that sub's are around, because I still have yet to find any amoungst the mass amounts of those red bastards.
You have to try where not many people go, the problem also with that, is that all mushie hunters do the same, thus, no mushrooms to be found when you go looking for them - I'm staying persistant however. Oh, and ActiveA and I are going get get blazed off out nuts.

You're right, I guess there must be none. I suppose we may as well all give and turn to hard liquor and cigarettes instead...
