Yeah, Canberra is a bit dry. I'v been thinking of watering a few patches actually.
The mycelium that I borrowed from the botanical gardens is growing nicely though. It's actually rampaging through the wetcarboard box that im keeping it in:)

Maybe they'l get some extra help from me, before the season is out:)

I can't wait to plant a dung lover around here for next year!

I found over one hundred subs last night.
Unfortunately I woke up to find it was only a dream.

You might find some pinners and or older shrooms today. Tomorrow would be the go, if you have exclusive spots..

Does anyone have luck in pine needles? Plenty of pine forests around..

Personally, iv only found them in pine bark mulch near parks and gardens adn stuff. Seems you gotta maximise you range of microclimates to imrpove random chances. Look on hills with gullies and visible rainflow channels.. (hint hints)

My sad looking pics from the last few days. Being one of the first few hunts I have ever done for subs, I don't mind atleast I know they are out there now and what type of place they like to call home.

First, second, third day's find.

Still unsure wether I loathe or love these ones, can look like subs from afar. And I haven't found any subs without these being nearby

Plenty of muscaria's about. Plus some pics I liked the look of

There are INACTIVE possibly POISONOUS mushrooms in your 2nd photo, mixed amongst your Subs.

Don't be a fool. Learn to properly ID all your mushrooms, including thorough spore printing.

Your right, there are some possibly poisonous ones mixed in with the subs. There are 3 Lactarius sp. I didn't bother narrowing it down any further then that.
I don't just bother with subs, If I can get a feed out of my treks I will. There wasn't enough of them too worry about a full ID though.

undergrounder: I am not sure what they are they have green gills though it has been suggested that it may be a Psthyrella sp by another member, quite an annoying mushroom really. Not sure on the Russula call either.

Ozzy: I need a new camera aswell, the one I use is only a Sony MVC-CD 500 and using a mini CD-RW kind of sucks.

BigJonMud: The only time I have found em in pine is on horse turds.
