And they are going bonkers over some "anti american" Barack Obama made about small towns. He basically said that small town people were really bitter about the lack of good jobs and have turned to religion and bigotry. Now, I have no idea why the fuck he said this, but it was surprisingly honest and...dare I say it...true? Of course, whether that is true or not is of no importance to news networks. They just jump on him as an "elitist," saying how out of touch he is. It has really become impossible to have a truly honest public dialog in this nation.

The problem is that FOX news represents a lot of people's opinions. But yeah you're correct, most legitimate media outlets aren't that bad.

i watch fox news at work on my breaks. i saw the same thing and a picture that was release by hilary clinton(i believe) that showed obama drinking alcohol and bowling...i just cant figure out why the picture is a big deal...

That's definitely not true. There are very deep racial issues here, but there has been a ton of progress. America doesn't even come close to some countries in Asia, the Middle East, Europe, and Africa in terms of racial prejudices...not to mention sexism.

Bullshit. Progress? hah. Its all a front man.. as much as we do try to mingle and interbreed with different races we have a different heritage. Unfortunately the majority of people (most of which tend to be uneducated) see something different and automatically start hating.
The african-american people as a race, have a lot of well deserved resentment and hatred towards the everyday segregation that they subjected to. The whole fact that there are laws in place which treat crimes made against people of a different colour differently is an example of this segregation (ala that southpark episode: http://mrtwig.net/ep/401.html).
It seems that white people as a majority cannot get past the fact that people of a different colour are still people exactly the same as them. Its fucking ludicrous when you think about it 
America (although you don't like to believe it) is the home of rascism.. and this came from your own violent history.
