i was browsing through the threads and came acroos this one by RR today. he had locked someones thread asking about how everybodies grows for P menace was going.
Reason:
There is no such thing as a species of mushroom called P menace. This nonstandard re-naming and trying to call P cubensis by other names is getting completely out of hand and only adds to the confusion. However, for 'strain' questions, we relegate them to the bastard step-child STRAIN THREAD which is a stiky at the top of the page.

Is there a question among that post you just typed?
The specie is psilocybe cubensis we (some) call it
Ps. menace cause its just easy, it is a wild texas cube found by LF p. menace got it cultivated it and sent it to hundreds, got it id'd it was found to be unique so it's strain of cubensis was named by P. menace cause its new to the cult world and that's it.

i find this to be completely unfortunate that this would happen, but we must ask ourselves, could WE handle such authority and power properly ? Not likely, the ego MUST DIE!
Clearly we are talking about a strain being refered to as P menace, not a species right? This is one of the most exciting and interesting things going on on the shroomery as of late, clearly, so why not foster and pamper this opportunity, rather than drown it?
EDIT: LONG LIVE THE MENACE STRAIN (and its right to thrive and grow amongst the shroomery community, if not here, where? will its descrimination here cause it to thrive elsewhere? I hope not... I pray for the sake of p menace, his work, HIS STRAIN, and for the shroomery itself)

Viva la resistance! Don't pick on the strain, it didn't do anything to you. It's referred to as "p menace", just like any other strain is shortened to it's strain name, e.g. thai lipa yai, treasure coast, etc. We are not calling it Psilocybe p menace.

2 days after innoculating my WBS with my LC i have substantial growth!
VERY fast colonizer like everyone said. i havent checked on my outdoor in about 2 days cuz i was out of town  im getting to it asap

I am a supporter of shroomery and no other... I don't care what negative is to be said. MY strain will live on... it will SOON be available thru sporeworks.com and known as Psilocybe Cubensis var. Menace (Wild Texas)
also once a few people grow and eat them they WILL believe the name fits the fruit PERFECTLY!

Hi P, I've finally got all the family headed back home to their respective states, so will be myc'ing this weekend. Finally!
I did start a small LC with LME and Turbinado - the turbinado because because I'd seen you mention it somewhere - and dang, I looked this morning and I think there's an alien life form taking over my grow room! I wonder if I should put on a space suit before I confront that stuff!
The growth is unreal! I've got rye berries, wheat berries and WBS, I think I'll start a quart of each today and compare progress.
It's getting pretty warm here for cultivation, but I'm so eager to see what Ps. cubensis var. Menace does, that I'll kick up the old air conditioner for awhile

Happy Birthday!!!!! I just popped em out yesterday.
I'll be sure to start my own thread when i figure out this camera.
Jars were 50/50 WBS and Verm. Complete colonization in 10 days.
I made 7 casings in 8x8 in. tin baking pans.I crumbled 3 half pint cakes to each pan making about 2.5 inches of substrate. I used a 1-1.5 inch layer of vermiculite adjusted to field capacity for the casing. I then covered with tin foil and placed back into incubation @82* F.
Any speculation on when these will be done colonising?
- I say 5 days, the mycelium is pretty aggressive.-

To everybody that has received a print...
Im only 61 trade ratings away from beating the record rating! Spores 101 has 149 trades and a perfect trade rating...
I have sent out 335 prints plus my trades, so i think that im short by quite a few... now yes i know not everyone can rate me due to post stats, but I do believe that there are more people out there that can help me out with this goal...
Plus how cool would it be to see me on the Top Ratings list??!?

This is a pic of one Pint cake that I'm doing a dunk and roll(well actually just roll at this point). WBSandVerm,50/50.
-This is the only PF style fruiting, ill be doing this time around. My 7 other Verm casings are on their 3rd day colonising, and from what ive read in other posts, I should probably put them into fruiting conditions pretty quick.
Any thoughts?
