when I went to open the jars (fully colonized) instead of dry excess vermiculite the tops are moist and there are some patches of white growth. the jars do not have a foul smell, and there are no funny colors, just white. I have done this successfully before with the same techniques. Are these cakes safe to grow with?
yeah the cakes are just fine. we've got some pics in the pictures forum with our just opened jars the white growth is just mycellium just scrap out that excess verm and birth the cake the verm is moist because the water circulates inside the jar so moist verm is ok.
