Imploding careers in sports
    #8256399 - 04/08/08 07:50 PM (5 years, 2 months ago)

After yesterdays game, and just thinking about Brandon Rush and his lineage, i began looking curiously through some of the sport's greatest implosions.

what i mean, is people who came out of college, got caught up in the prospects of fame and fortune, and managed to burn it all into ashes.

The Rush family lineage, JaRon was a star at UCLA, decided to leave early for the NBA draft, goes undrafted, signed by the sonics, released due to drinking and disciplinary problems.

now he's an assistant coach at a high school.

Kareem Rush, a star at Missouri, goes to the draft early, gets benched, played in europe, now he got signed recently.

Marcus Vick is my favorite case. That guy, i try to look into his mind.

He must've been looking at his brother and thinking it was his destined future, which it very well could've been.

He gets suspended a whole season, in the one season he does play, he flicks off the crowd, stomps on some dude's ankle, etc. gets released by the damn school because he has like 4-6 wreckless driving crap,

gets caught brandishing a gun at a bunch of teenagers,

and the cherry on top, sexual assault charges from minor.

damn, if i had marcus vick's physical abilities....the guy ran a 4.4 sec 40 his freshman year....

if i could switch brains with him, i'd be starting in the NFL somewhere.

Probably shouldn't joke about it because the story really does suck, but he definitely had the biggest implosion ever.

I wouldn't expect you guys to know of Billy Edelin, but when he was on the court and in basketball mode he was absolutely awesome. Had too much shit swirling around him, didn't even graduate, or at least he didn't use all his years of eligibility.
