Cactus tea: What did I do wrong?

Hello,
This is the second time Ive tried to try San Pedro, and it didn't work - again.
The first time I assumed I just got a dud cutting. This time I got some SS from bouncing bear and I still got nothing, so I'm assuming I screwed up.
I read this: Cactus preparation from Erowid
Then I:
1) Chopped & blended the cactus (about 14") as described 2) Added plenty of water; enough so that the mixture was soupy and the small cactus particles could flow freely. I think I had maybe 3 qts of water. 3) Brought this to a rolling boil for two hours 4) Poured off the liquid, filtering through cheesecloth. I collected and saved the liquid. 5) Mixed the cactus with 2 qts fresh water, boiled again for about a hour. 6) Poured the liquid through a cheesecloth. Squeezed remaining liquid out of the cactus pulp & discarded the pulp. 7) Combined the liquids. Boiled down to 12 Oz. This I froze to store. 8) Thawed overnight in the fridge after 2 days of being frozen. 9) Microwaved for 30 sec to bring to room temp, and drank.
So far its been 4 hours. I felt a threshold effect after 2, but now Im back to normal.
I have 2 more 14" cuttings. I dont want to mess it up again. Any recommendations?
TIA!

Kinda sounds like you maybe just did too much to it. I've heard that freezing cactus chunks can actually help by breaking down cell walls. But microwaving is generally not a good idea with anything.
Try freezing the cactus chunks before you make the tea. Just let them sit out to thaw. Then maybe try to boil it down without actually boiling it so hard. Other than that it sounds like you're doing everything right. A lot of it could just be the quality of the cuttings.
If it's just gonna be a couple days you can probably keep it in a jar in the refrigerator.

Check out Knoa's cactus tea tek, very similar with minor differences. including the use of lemon juice to help draw out some of the alkaloids.
I plan on testing his tek out on either monday or tuesday and will be sure to make a post here about my experience!
I will be using a 22'' san pedro cutting, however my guy is pretty skinny.

bouncing bear cant sit there, look at a cactus, and tell the alkaloid content of a cutting. it varies from plant to plant, you may have just gotten a weak specimen.

I have heard nothing but bad things about that particular vendor. I have yet to hear of someone who has had a positive experience with their cacti. I have found that the best way to find a healthy specimen is to check your local home depot and walmart on a weekly basis, both have been known to carry them and quite frequently.
My local walmart has several right now, but they are potted as 3 18'' pedros in 1 pot and cost 53$ this isnt a bad deal considering its 3 of them, thats just more than I like to spend. You can normally find an odd one for 12-20$ just keep an eye out for them. Study pictures on erowid and you will really become familiar with what the active species are quickly.

sucks to be you I guess. I know they routinely stock them, perhaps someone else is beating you to the punch. Also try checking smaller nurseries thats usually where I get mine, and they are generally cheaper. Its all really hit and miss. Sometimes I will go months without finding any and sometimes several stores will have them at the same time.
It took me almost 6 weeks of checking around until I came across my 2 footer. Only cost me 9$.
Heres my guy I picked up http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Cat/0/Number/8233475/an/0/page/0
