1. Whose doing the thinking here, me or you?

2. Nope, your ass be dead.

3. I have no idea what Einstein meant by that. I just know that he owned math.

1. As far as I know for certain, I am. In the context that I am my body, brain, mind, and observer working in synch. I know you exist to a certain degree, weather as a figment of my imagination or not, you still exist in some form or other.

2. I agree (check)

3. What I meant by quoting Al is this, there is no need to go 200 years into the future, or into infinity for that matter, and say you see I wont make a diffrence, I must not exist. That is extreme.

Now unless you read that shit somewhere and jumped on the bandwagon, I have no clue how anyone came up with "I don't exist."

I'll be upfront, I'm not enlightened, I have not reached Nirvana. So I'm not going to continue talking about something that I have never experienced first-hand. I'm not the best candidate for arguing about this.

Redgreenvines is a really wise poster on here and I suggest that you talk to him more than anybody about this concept if you want to know more.

The concept? Hmm... tardy indeed.

Great, now your one step further.

Just take a couple grams of shrooms, watch that clip you showed me, but don't think about it, just spend the trip quite and observe. Best way for me to retouch with the universe, it doesn't think, so to try and think your self to enlightenment won't work. But you'll know. Oh, and enlightenment is a bad term in my book, awakining I find better. Just reawakening to the truth that Is.

When Buddha and Jesus practiced selflessness, I believe they were referring to selflessness of the self.

This video will you give you a better understanding as to what not having an ego is like.

Just try to tune out the cheesy synths and stereotypical guru image.

I love this dude, watch it while tripping if he doesn't make you smile, your dead inside!
His message is brilliant, he talks scientifically, psycologically and spiritually if you read his interviews.

if there is no more you or individuality left at the end of the path, then how can you experience anything at all.

if you are experiencing something then who is it that is experiencing anything? presumably the collection of all your past experiences bundled into a thing called the self. so that means that the "you" would still recognize what you were before this point because you would still be there.

i think enlightenment or ego loss cant ever be acheived unless one actually dies.
because there is always an ego to be experiencing the phenomenon of ego loss of enlightenment.

i think a dramatically altered state of consciousness can be experienced. but even this i think comes down unless one works to keep it up by meditation and the like.

kinda like that mythical dude with wings on his feet. If he is always getting halfway to his destination, he will never get there. Like a limited infinity(Pi for example)

if you were being sold something of which you could not conceive, it would be a con.
if you were being asked to believe in something you could not see, it would be a con.

the stories about people becoming enlightened after retreating from habits
and after meditating in earnest
are promoting nothing other than retreating from habit and meditating in earnest.

the view that can be enjoyed at that perspective is what it is, and it is not easy to put in words, and the term ego relates more to habit than to anything tangible.
