Using psychedelics to work through a broken heart?
    #8186613 - 03/24/08 09:34 AM (4 years, 2 months ago)

So in the past I've grown to love the tremendous psychotherapeutic value to psychedelics... I've worked through depression and social anxiety successfully using LSA and mushrooms, and I feel that without these tools I would not be the confident person I am today.

So that being said, is it advisable to use these in an effort to mediate through the emotional aftermath of a painful breakup? The decision to break up was mine, and made for good logical reasons, but some deep emotional part of me is having difficulty letting go. I'm not trying to completely erase any memory of her, but just come to terms with my grief and come to a satisfactory conclusion. Your thoughts?

A small dose of LSD once helped me to accomplish this...
It kind of helped to put everything in perspective, made me realize how good of a thing it was, thankful for the current things that I had in my life (new friends, etc.), and excited and hopeful for the future.

How long ago was the breakup? I wouldn't take any psychedelic until at least a couple weeks afterwards. But that's just me.

Also, as I'm sure you know, only take it in a positive set and setting. If you are feeling down at the time, that's probably not a good time to take anything.

Good luck, friend!

i avoid hallucinogens all together when i am upset, angry, sad, etc.

has never turned out well for me and IMO it is best avoided.

I would recommend a low dose of psilocybin. Just enough to crack the lid off your mind. And since you have experience working through bogged down feelings with mushrooms, chances are you will benefit from a little psychedelic self-therapy. :mushroom2:

Thanks for the advice, everyone. 10 g's and a bowl helped things considerably.
