 First Shroom Trip

My friend and I recently started smoking marijuana. One day while smoking I brought up the idea of taking shrooms (I had never done them, as the title implies). My friend used to be pretty conservative (not politically lol) so he was pretty nervous about them and said that he would have to do some research.
A couple days ago he texts me out of the blue and says that we should do shrooms the next day. He also asks if I could get them, since I get our weed. I told him that I dont know if I could get them by the next day and that I will see what I can do.
I happen to be all right friends with a guy that I was fairly positive could get me shrooms so I dropped him a line. Long story short, the next day we got an 8th to split between us plus two extra caps (because my friends supplier was late).
Later that day (two days after my friend asked if I could get them) I head over to my friends place and whip out the 8th (plus 2 caps). My friend is positive that weve been ripped off or something because he didnt think theyd be that big or weird looking etc.
I tell him to get over it and we proceed to split it up 50/50 almost perfectly. Our sitters looked on as we started to crunch away, washing it down with some juice, commenting on how this was such a weird drug. This was around 9:15 I think. We talked for awhile and went to erowid just to prove to my friend that the shrooms were legit. One of our sitters wasnt feeling to good so she went to bed while we watched Eurotrip and waited.
Pretty early on in the movie I started getting a body high and couldnt stop moving. A little later my friend started moving a lot too. We then started laughing like crazy, and at one point my friend couldnt stop laughing (literally).
Then I noticed a ton of infinitely repeating fractals when I closed my eyes. I told my friend to close his eyes but he wasnt getting anything (he had eaten a big meal a couple hours before, so I think thats why his took longer).
Then I was staring at the tv and the knots in the wood started to come alive and rotate and come towards me. I kept telling my friend to look but he wasnt seeing it. He was starting to get the CEVs though, so I knew he was on his way. About halfway through the movie I told him to look at the wood knots again, and what do you know, hes there.
Not only is he there, he freaks the hell out! He has a full body spasm and falls completely off the couch. This scared the sitter, but we were both laughing. So then for the rest of the movie we closed our eyes on and off and looked around the room pretty much.
When the movie was over we went to go look at the stars. My friend thought the stars were moving and started to fall, but I caught him in time (hes very unsteady when hes high or drunk, so this was nothing new). We then went back inside and he started staring at the ceiling, he couldnt understand that the ceiling was sloped and it confused him a lot. Then he saw a purple sticky note and had another full body spasm because it was so purple.
I then remember the Winamp visualizer, so we break out his computer and download it (I hadnt brought mine). We watch it for awhile, then decide to get more songs in. But his library is pretty much all DRMd so after like an hour of trying to get Winamp to work, we just used the itunes visualizer. Then we turned off the lights, watched itunes, and started talking about the shape of the universe.
During this talk I kept looking at my friend and I couldnt see his face at all. Then he moved and he looked completely like a corpse.
My friend asked if space was a cone, and that we were on the cone, and as we went the diameter increased and that was why space was expanding or something like that. We sat there and discussed that for a looong time. Then we looked at ourselves in the mirror and experimented with going from lit areas to dark areas.
After that we talked more about the universe and started watching Airplane. By now it was starting to wear off and we were starving. Our sitter took us to get some pizza(we stayed in the car and called my friend who got us the shrooms). We got back to the house and just watched southparkzone.com for hours until all the effects had worn off.
It was a great experience. Even the day after, if I thought about how I felt while tripping I would start laughing like I had when I was tripping. I was in a pretty good mood all next day and had at least a mildly different view of quite a lot of things.
We are going to up to the amount next time and I cant wait to see what its like to genuinely see the world in a different way!
Ps: I hope this doesnt boil down to it was really cool.

That was a fun read.. it is reassuring to know that even 1/2 eighth can bring in some interesting visuals. How intense were the visuals exactly, other than the wood knotting? Still have to do em myself.

I found my self quite amazed on my first mushie trip with knots in wood on my wood deck in back yard.

Nice man.
That sounds like a great first trip.
If you're upping the dosage next time, expect to go further. It only gets more insane. Insane as in "OMG, I am in-fucking-sane right now".
Your journey has only begun. And remember it gets deeper as you go. You have just gotten your feet wet!

I took half an 8th my first time too. Pretty pleasurable experience, eh?
Low doses can be fun too!

Oh, the visuals were really intense. I think the most intense was when I was reading my friends itunes and saw the shiny toy guns. Then my entire field of vision was filled with 'shiny toy guns' EVERYWHERE. My entire field of vision was covered in these words, but I could still see through them. It was wicked.
