home rice cultivation

i think i'm going to give it a try and i'm wondering if anyone else has had any success with home cultivation of rice.
also if anyone has any cultivation resources, tips, ideas, etc i'd appreciate them.

i'm going to keep it small and simple at first but i have a lot of ideas i'd like to experiment with. i'll post some pics when i get started

I've never done it but I saw something on the victory garden. Rice grows in stagnant water, seems like a mosquito haven to me.

that is not completely true. it CAN grow in water, and they usually do, especially in asia, due to the fact that it keeps weeds out of the beds. it grows just fine in regular soil.

yes it can grow in soil. i'm going to give it a try in water on a small scale. in larger production mosquitos are taken care of by the fish and frogs that live in water.

you could try adding some smaller fish like guppies or something to help eat the larvae.
