The Mushroom Cultivator

So I'm relatively new to Shroomery, and it's been a little hard beginning to understand a lot of the concepts/terminology/abbreviations/etc. (as I'm sure it is for most new members). For that reason, I'd like to make a statement to any new shroomers interested in growing:
Purchase The Mushrooms Cultivator: A Practical Guide to Growing Mushrooms at Home by Paul Stamets and J.S. Chilton RIGHT NOW and read it cover to cover before posting another question.
I just bought the book, and it is incredible. Everything you need to know, every bit of advice I have ever seen provided in Shroomery forums is within this book.
I was able to find it on Amazon for under $25, and I'd advise any novice grower to do the same.

One thing that I know has been updated since the book was written is the temps for incubation. I believe that the book says like 86 degrees or something like that but you should really go at about 75 - 80, as the nasties start to grow at higher temps. Peace

I bought it 10 years ago, it's got a load of information but the shroomery picks up where the book falls short, plus we're interactive

I found growing gourmet and medicinals a little more informative, also a little easier to understand. But if you got the funds read both books.
-------------------- "There is a world beyond ours, a world that is far away, nearby, and invisible. And there it is where God lives, where the dead live, the spirits and the saints, a world where everything has already happened and everything is known. That world talks. It has a language of its own. I report what it says. The sacred mushroom takes me by the hand and brings me to the world where everything is known. It is they, the sacred mushrooms, that speak in a way I can understand. I ask them and they answer me. When I return from the trip that I have taken with them, I tell what they have told me and what they have shown me."

Agreed; both are good books. My only grievance is the rather large-scale composing procedures outlined in both books. Not very practical for apartment dwellers.
Many TEKs found on this forum were definitely more conducive to my scale of operation.
