Russ Cohens foraging in New England book
    #8157963 - 03/17/08 03:54 PM (6 months, 25 days ago)

Anyone heard of Russ Cohens foraging book: "Wild Plants I Have Known...and Eaten"? I was wondering if anyone has a pdf version or something?

I got that:grin:

Wilderness Way is a good magazine to get. Susan Weed, Tom Brown, and a lot of other people out there got a bunch of knowledge available.

I rep Stinging Nettle a lot. Has a lot of minerals and is a great substitute for spinach. Just got to wear gloves when harvesting.

Acorns make a good meal or flower. But you have to soak them in water to get rid of the tanic acid. But the tanic acid can be concentrated and used in the processing of rawhide into leather. Thats kinda the idea behind my philosophy. Using the waste of one thing to make another thing. If not daily practice good knowledge in the do or die situation.
