And for those of you who are finding them in lawns, Subbs have a harder time growing in lawns the conditions have to be just perfect. On the other hand, subbs in manure have the benifit of perfect substrate unlike lawns and therefore grow a lot easier there. This is all my theory's, also I would think the temperatures could be a bit lower than idea temps for the subbs if they are growing in manure, since these piles generate a lot of heat. I was finding subbs in a pile when the temps were below 35-32 constatly at night. You could actually feel the heat coming off the pile compared to the outside temp. Use weather.com to plan your hunt. You can look under month and see what its been in the past weeks and what the averages are for the future weeks, Ive found it really handy.

yeah i will, it will still be a bit longer before the temps are right for the subbs to fruit but that gives me some time to start scouting out a few spots.

3 hrs actually  Yea I guess I have what you say dedication. This is my first season hunting these little guys and im loving it. Spent over 20 hrs researching all the previous posts and internet things I could find and then put all my information together and started hunting. I also make log books of my finds, how much at each location, and why im driving around Im also scouting for fall shroom locations then I document possible locations such as alder bark chips and such. I just started going to local places and are finding very few but they are starting to pop I think soon as the temp gets a bit higher

I've been finding subbs in lawns since the beginning of this month. Then again, I'm in SoCal which seems to be an exception to a lot of the norms when it comes to shrooms.

In fact, just yesterday we picked about 350 grams fresh from a lawn that we had picked about double that two weeks ago.

Had a good trip on fresh subbs last night. Took a good deal more than I ever had before. :mushroom2:

they are still a bit low with highs in the low 50's and lows at 39 to low 40's. So I still have some time before they will be up. It is nice that i have that patch right down the street from my house for an indicator though.

Yes i am east of Seattle

I am in ventura county and the lawn was full of foes ,untill the overnight temps got above 60 ,then the foes slowed down and subbs poped up everywhere. When the temps were below 50 overnight I found nothing but foes in the lawns.............

i would think they would start fruiting on horse manure with lower temps then on lawns due to the heat caused by the decomposition of the manure

I've been looking for Pan. subbs in the PNW lately and haven't found any yet, but I know they are out there. Can anyone confirm finding these guys this early in northwestern Washington?

I had a chance subb encounter today.

A subb fairy ring

The pretties

The beasties

Would you guys eat those? I think I'm going to. There were more, but they were just completely cooked to a crisp. The santa ana last weekend completely destroyed them.

Nice find. I would eat them for sure. As long as they are not black and rotton they are good.

Oh yeah, I gotta give props to you guys for teaching how to find subbs, especially subbedhunter420 for your guide. I had seen subbs many times before but never had a clue they were anything special. Then the shroomery came along...

John allen said a long time ago on this site that pan foes dont grow in horse pastures, but ive been finding a shit load of foes in the horse pasture ive been hunting in whats up with that. Im fairly new to the pasture subb thing, been picking weilii for 7 years. But the foes have twisted striations on the stipe and have really thick short stipes but give a brown print im confused! I thought foes had thin white stipes with straight striations on them, also bruise reddish brown on the stem. Any ideas
