Ill agree with weilii. Potency depends upon several things
Substrate nutrients, Weather and conditions, and the genetics of the mushroom.
Ive never seen a subb pin blue so much. I took prints of this clump and sent them to people including workman, WyattB, and someone else I just dont remember... Theyll know when they grow them out I guess. haha.
Just good, beefy, STRONG subbs. Superior genetics can really make the difference.
and no... The coloring in the photos is off.

Yeah, Ive seen that picture acouple of times. You sure you havent picked up and copes? haha
The bluing on stems is caused by the breaking down of the chemicals through oxidation and bruising of the flesh.
I challenge you to find beefy ones that are that blue.

I'm a little dissapointed. I saved up 3 hauls of subbs which was probably 60-70 in total, probably about 40 of them being just picked that day, and ate them all. After 2 hours I didn't feel any effects so I just decided to go to bed. Although, while I was falling asleep, I heard one of those sharp, startling noises. It was like a... metallic synth noise. Maybe it had something to do with the shrooms, but sounds like that do tend to happen when you fall asleep sometimes. Next time I think I'll take 300.

Oh, lol. I thought that's what you meant. Yeah, it is a lot. I'm thinking maybe this strain of subbalteatus in Minnesota doesn't have psilocybin or something. Oh, how I wish i lived in California. I went out today and these new mushrooms are popping up everywhere. I have yet to ask for an ID, but they're about the size of subbs, but they have white, liberty-cap looking caps, and they have orange nipples on the top. The gills look goldish-rusty. Hmm.

You are probably finding Conocybe Lactea, a very common species that grows on lawns. Look it up for pics.

sorry i have been away traveling with a jewish nomad. now i am back. anyway... i know for certain they are the balloon shrooms. it actually seems like there are two different kinds of balloon looking ones. the traveler and another friend did eat an 1/8 with no effects what so ever. nothing positive, nothing negative (negative side effects being sickness or death). i find these on a golf course also a few subs mixed in but nothing worth picking.

okay, again, for people with bug woes
maggots: throw your fruits in a pretzel or cereal box, close the lid, wedge a straw into the box, and blow cigarette smoke into it for a minute or two. all the maggots will be dead (hope you dont mind eatin a few inside your shrooms) and will not devour your haul
slugs: if slugs are eatin your patches, take a cat food can, and insert it into some dirt until the rim of the can is level with the ground. fill with beer. slugs love the beer, and fall in it, get EFFED UP, and die. replace the beer every so often. i keep a 40oz in my fridge for this.
i really, really hate bugs, so ive found ways to get rid of them...

There are two types of panaeolopsis/galeropsis. Both have been reported to blue slightly and grow blue scleriota.
Just keep looking for them and trying them.
