rich hoods are always a good bet for shrooms, i always find weilii in neighborhoods with homes that are 400,000$ to 1million dollars. Sum of those people are assholes though chasing me out of there yards or turning the dogs loose on me, its like jeez man im not hurting anybody just pickin sum shrooms chill. Most people are cool though and glad too have those "ugly things" taken out of there pristine lawns, ya gotta love yuppies.

I thinnnkk I found some subbs. I didn't bring back a ton, just a few. I'm worried that it might be a foe though. Can someone verify? Sorry for the terrible pictures, the camera is not in... optimal condition right now...

Once again, sorry for the terrible quality, I'll try to get better pics next time. Subbs or foes?

It could be a subb with under developed gills. Did you get a spore print?

Printing as we speak. I'm pretty sure I've seen at least 50 of these puppies around, on just a small section of my lawn. Oh, and it's been raining lately too. I think I'm gonna find a lot tomorrow! For Minnesota, not bad at all, eh?

I just went hunting, I couldn't wait till tomorrow. =P
Annywayyyss... here's what I got. I'm stil a bit of an amateur at this, so.. it's probably a mixed bunch. I think they're all pan's though. I'm spore printing all of them as we speak, but I figure someone might find some fun from trying to identify them. Plus another opinion doesnt hurt, right? - These 3 ones I found on my lawn. They seemed a lot better than the others, and there were a lot more on my lawn of the same type, but I saved all but 3 from picking. I'm testing these 3 to see how well my lawn is doing.

Those are the ones on my lawn. What do ya think? - - These pretties below are the ones that I found on my walk.

Sorry for the rushed picture taking and lack of more detailed pics. I was in a hurry since I did this in my bathroom and I was trying to not rouse suspicion from my parents for being in my bathroom for a super long time. I guess I could write it off as eating at McDonalds today though...
Annywayyyss... Yeah. It'll probably be easier to id the first 3 because I took more time on those. I'm not asking for id's, but if you wanna take a shot, go ahead. (It'd be really nice of you to do ) All my spore prints will be done by tomorrow, I'll post back results. Cheers.

Oh, the stems are cut off as close to the cap as I can get (on these ones and the ones from previously today, that's how I always do it). I just keep the stems next to them. I was under the impression that you're not supposed to pull off the stem completely, just cut it as close as you can. Is this correct?

A few of those in the pile look very much like subbs, but they can be extremely ambiguous sometimes, A lot of those gills seem too light, but based on what I've found, that doesn't even seem to matter anymore. Your spore prints definately should'nt take all night though, they will be fine in a couple hours.

You can do either, it doesn't matter if you pull them off. It's really easy to pull the stems off most of the time though. Just try to apply equal pressure all around the cap to avoid breaking it.

Ah, thats nice to know. I really shouldn't have used a butterknife in the first place, lol. Ohhhh wellllll...
I didn't think Minnesota was just completely barren of shrooms, but... dang. For my first hunt, this seems to have went pretty awesome! Looks like I have something to do this summer.

Alright. I thought that in theory, it should help trap in humidity, but, dunno. I guess it might not matter.

you definately don't want to trap humidity. they will print long before they dry out.

Is there anything wrong with trapping the humidity for preservation though? I'm gonna dry them after I print them, so I suppose it doesnt really matter, but just out of curiosity. After I print I'll dry them. I was just planning on... dunno.. sandwiching them in paper and putting them on an air vent. Should I... erm... change my method?
