Found about 50 foes today just in a 1 hour period around the neighborhood and golf course. a few subbs, and can no longer hunt on either spot for various reasons.

I finally found a mature lawn Pan sub with a really thick stem amid plenty of thin-stemmed sisters. Also, it seems that when they're just popping up, the stems will be unusually large proportional to the young cap, but I'm not certain if this also applies to Pan foes.
The good news for new hunters is that you'll quickly get a feel for the slight differences in Pan sub and Pan foe appearances when working with lawn specimens. Of course, the spore prints are the ultimate test of identity (lol other than ample consumption ).

WonkierBubble said: After learning that subbs on lawns may have thin stems, I went out to my neighbor's lawn and collected roughly, I don't know the weight, there are about 50 caps, with the biggest one being just over 2 cm across and the longest stem being just under 8 cm. What is also cool is that I left a group of these tiny, TINY pins, I mean like 3 mm tall MAX, I can't believe I spotted them. So I hope those grow. I layed all the caps out on two pieces of white printer paper with the corresponding stems.
Hopefully some of these (or all) are subbs, because I didn't even pick a third of what was there. The Shroomery is one of the best communities, I love every one of you

It is still Panaeolus subbalteatus according to Index Fungorum. I don't get the feeling that many people have read Gerhardt 1996 yet because its in German.

panaeolopsis?
whats that? i'm assuming that those are the ones that look like deflated balloons? If someone could give me the full scientific name that would be very helpful.
i just figured that they were just really dried out subbs.
So i printed the rest of the mushrooms (and got a few foes amongst the mix).
but three of them produced REALLY black spore prints.
i'm definitely going back to my neighbors lawn tonight to snag some more... i just saw them watering their lawn (which they do a lot) so i hope to come back with many more mushrooms than the last haul.

i've been finding tons of foes around but very few subbs.
I have a question for all of you: I work on a farm and we do sod on it. The sod gets sprayed with weed killers to keep it all grass. Would you be hesitant to eat mushrooms that grow here? Or would that not bother you?

Above left is a box of dried subbs from the 16th. The bag of dried subbs is from the 15th. The little batch of dried subbs is from yesterday and the stems on the lower left are from the caps I am printing for a patch I am starting which I picked this morning.
This mornings batch and some of the caps I am printing on the right.
The batch I had from the week before, dried. This batch is now in my freezer!!!
The 16th's batch and another angle for it.
And finally the 15th's batch and another angle. I think it is time for a shroom party!!!!
And there you are...... Some of my MycoPORN.

My scale stops at 200g. The bag in the freezer topped that. I am not sure of the "grand total" weight yet. I have already dosed 9g and gave about 9g away. I will break it all down and weigh it here soon. I'll let you know then.

The temps were in the high 80's with 80% humidity for about a week. Then we just had a cold front move in with some storms which brought some descent rain but also brought the temps down to the high 60's and low 70's. Hopefully it will warm up and get humid again. The subbs seamed to really like it.
