I didn't ask any of those questions but thanks for the info! I had already read the part about how the ring near their margin disappears when dried and loses moisture, but this just confirms it.

you found about 500! I hate you lol... yeah they can be light grey when they are fresh... when they are matured more they become a darker blackish grey. good finds everyone congrats... I'm going out tomorrow cause there is an explosion after what I found this morning... found 3 new patches in the horse field and if they are that many there then I know exactly where to look tomorrow... lets just say it's about 15 miles of horse fields and hopefully the farmers won't be D*heads but maybe I can beat weilii's score I hope

What are the minimum temps y'all have found subbs in?
I wanted to go hutnin today, but it's only like 65ºF with 63% humidity. Waste of time?

Depends on where you are hunting. hay/horse manure those temps are great. Lawns probably need a bit warmer for optimal

Yeah, looked in "lawns" (maintenanced fields), with horse manure droppings all over it. But again it was a fruitless effort
I probably need to wait till it gets warmer since I have yet to witness any piles of hay and/or manure

where are you drying your shrooms? Sometimes if you dry them too close too were you sleep or hang out in your house the spores can give you what is called in the Merck medical manual-mushroom workers lung, your lungs will ache and you'll cough up shit loads of mucus it sucks but its only temporary. Peace-oh yeah found about 50 subbs today the fruiting is heavy in the horse pasture i pick in. I was stepping on all kinds of inactives.
