I gave my friend a tea of 32 grams fresh last night. and he hid under a blanket for an hour trying to dig a tunnel under us to suprise attack. He wouldnt explain what he was planning exactly...
We had a good time.

Well, two lonely subbs today. I found a couple more last week from the same lawn, I suspect I'll be able to grab a few more in the coming weeks if the occupant keeps watering their lawn.
No habitat pics, grabbed them on the way to uni today.

I Dont think that those are subbs, They look like Panaeolus papilionaceus var. papilionaceus. Thats one thing no one ever discusses these look alikes, The cap margin edge is not flat it has little edges coming down. Subbs dont have these. ALL Pan species have black spore prints I think so you cant just go go the print. Only foes have brown...

Panaeolus Papilionaceous doesn't grow from lawns. Whenever I find a black spored lawn pan like this, I always consider them active. Its a pan subb in all respects...

I might as well add that when I took the photograph it had been about 7 hours since I had picked them.

The only thing I was wondering if the lawn had manure under it like a lot of subb lawns have, then you can find the paps. The thing that I do whenever I find something like yours I do a taste test, If you have eaten subbs then you know what they taste like, if you havent then they tast almost exactly like the white mushrooms in the store. The paps as soon as you bite into them taste more watery, bitter like it almost makes your tunge feel dryer. Taste like you are eating some bitter grass.. DONT TASTE TEST any other mushrooms this way I only do this with the pan species because none of them are poisonus..

Actually it is safe to taste test any mushroom as long as you don't swallow bits of it.
I have tasted all the deadly species I can find, they just taste like regular mushrooms for the most part.
I usually wash my mouth out with water if the species is known toxic, but that is probably not required, it takes eating a significant amount of the cap to cause poisoning.

Ive been watching this one group thats close to home every day. Here are the pics from the last 3 days. Ive notices the ones around my home town look quite different than the ones I go driving a distance to find down south... These have more conical caps thiner stems.
