i wasn't expecting it to but this post got me thinking.
they only force treatment for schizophrenia if you become violent or break the law right?
so does that mean you can have completely out of tune beliefs and still be considered sane as long as you don't break the law? what if you don't really have control of your body but you don't break the law?
are all new agers schizophrenic?
or are schizophrenics just people who don't have a community that believes the same thing as them.
i think there is a large gap between skitzotypal/sktizo-effective and full blow schizophrenia.
weird, i wonder if the people who study the neurology of schizophrenia study new age people to.
or any religious people for that matter.
seems really hard to draw the line.

Any family member can have a relation committed for evaluation and if the person is deemed a threat to themselves or others they can be committed indefinitely.

All I can say is VISUALIZATION. I don't know whether or not some of these ethereal beings are "real" or not, but they can be "real" enough mentally to have profound effects on what you're trying to accomplish. Practice mindfulness meditation and visualize yourself removing that "anchor" from your chest, and visualize entities helping you if you must.
I can attest to the fact that when in certain states of shamanic ecstasy, I have been able to use visualization in a very concrete and beneficial manner. And, no joke, as one's skill in visualization increases, it becomes possible to literally *hallucinate* (I use this term because once again I am only sure that these entities exist as a construct of my imagination and/or an extension of myself. Not to say that they aren't "real", but that is unverifiable.) entities that do your bidding and help you with the task at hand.
For the record I remain an agnostic scientist and philosopher with many suspicions rather than beliefs. But due to my unique experiences and situations, I, as any good scientist, have been forced to change my world view to accommodate new phenomena.

The mind is a creative tool. It searches to protect you, through message sensations(feelings). It is no different than a computer, you need to make sure its anti-virus program is in check and that it doesnt have a script that limits your experience, because of to much precaution.
And remember the computer does not appear to respond to words of anger and frustration - just give it input, in the form of new meanings that you know to be true and its messages to you and the limits it lays out for you, will change.
Guilt is an outcome of believing you are the cause of the problems.
Yet, we are not a cause to something, we see is negative or bad - Unless you believe your intentions are directed towards a bad outcome....

I know i have an implant in my left temple. Everytime I think overtly hard working against my depressionary thoughts and succeed,around that areas becomes all red and bumby like something was overheating. This has happened around 3 or so times.
One time was most shocking, because it was a day of real and constant, i mean like 15 hours of talking about our sexual, social repressions and anxieties, mending them in many ways, pushing our minds and literally disregarding all repressive, "Should nots" laid out by our culture. Im not saying we were having an orgy, but more interpersonal things, relatings to relationships, ie. My girlfriend, from this understanding, took her shirt off in front of a person she met for the first time, we all eventually decided to get naked and talk about our fears and insecurities as a way to heal the wounds that denied us and so many people freedom from anxiety and fear over natural occurences, that relate closely to the weather and the four seasons.
After this encounter at about 3 in the morning, i looked at that spot in the mirror being completly unconcious about it because i tend to forget and i saw this inch long red mark at the top of my left hand side of my head, in a similair way as before.
