Should I stay or should I go?

To bed
Thing is, my day/night rhythm is screwed the last few days and right now I'm facing a dilemma.
It's 12:15 PM. I have not slept last night. I am able to pull all-nighters.
I could..
A..stay awake till 21:00 PM, riding the waves of sleep deprivation, then crash and sleep a righteous nine hours and rise and shine fully replenished at 06:00 AM and have the whole new day ahead of me, at the cost of feeling sucky and off for nine hours more.
B..go to bed right now, sleep a groovy nine hours which sounds cool to me right now.. but then I WAKE at 21:00 PM and tomorrow I'll be faced with the same damn problem
Sleep a few hours you say? That won't work, if I go to sleep and wake after 4 hours or so I either oversleep my alarmclock or I do wake, feel as bad or worse than now and wake up at whats supposed to be my bedtime
Suffer now, or suffer tommorow?

Crap, I'm in pretty much the same spot. I've been up all night for the past couple of weeks and I'm ready to knock it off but can't fall asleep at a decent hour.
I feel your pain.
I'm going to bed.

I'm in a similar predicament. I'm gonna try to stay up today and try to get my sleep schedule back on track.

I work 3rd shift. I'm off Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays. I sleep all day long before work and wake up around 8PM. Then I work till 6AM and after work I stay up all day until 9PM that night (forget sleeping a whole day-off-work away). Go to sleep, wake up around 6AM, Go back to bed around 3PM, wake up at 9PM, repeat. The most backward sleep schedule possible is normal for me now.
My internal clock is a timebomb.

Man, I have your exact same problem and have had it a few times. It sucks no doubt. I vote to stay up the next 9 hours and get back on a regular schedule. It sucks so bas being on the night shift with nothing to do. Im laid off right now and stuck on this shit schedule, I got up at 8pm yesterday. I almost got off it yesterday but laid down and told myself it was only going to be for a few minutes but I slept 7 hours. Ive been trying to get off this shit sleep cycle for a week but its easier said then done when youve nothing to do.

I love biology, but hate physics with a passion.
Physics and statistics are the only two classes I had to repeat in college.

Calc5 is the one class(so far) that I need to retake.
Fucking crazy: Ordinary, partial, linear, and nonlinear differential equations; Fourier series; boundary value problems; and Bessel functions.

What's your major?
Pre-med or something?
I just got my geophysics B.S. in December from UW.

biological engineering. Like a little bit(or a lot) of everything.
You got a job in the field?

Biological engineering.
That sounds interesting.
Can you design me some catnip that produces THC?

Would I call it mannip?
Realistically I would love to work on developing new bio-fuel technology. But the field is quite expansive so I could be doing a plethora of stuff.

BIO FUEL!?
I schlep through the desert looking for oil and you're trying to put me out of a job by developing a BIO FUEL?

That is your job?
Anyways, I'm more looking at it from the angle of being prepared than trying to put people out of jobs. Supplies will last our life time(maybe?).

Nothing in my field yet at all.
I may be fleeing the country for 12 or 16 months come July/August, so I'd hate to get locked into something serious now just to quit in a few months.
And I probably make more at my night job de-icing planes at the airport here in Milwaukee than I would doing entry-level geology anyway. I'll likely wait until I get my Masters to seek gainful employment.

Good idea. What does an entry level job pay ya?
I'm looking at '35-45k' a year. But we will see in 3 years when I graduate how accurate those numbers are.

25-30 is what they tell you, but I honestly haven't seen anything like that that is entry level here. Once you have a few years of experience it jumps up pretty quickly though.
Location also matters too. I'm from Chicago and if I was looking for a job down there, pay automatically jumps up 8-10K.
But I think I'd probably lose money w/ cost of living and transportation costs.
I know little or nothing about Ohio. (If that is in fact where you are.)

I have couple friends who live in Chicago(area)...but yea I don't think Ohio is very expensive to live in. Then again I have yet to really live on my own(I got rent to pay but my parents are still around and what not)
Ohio's not bad, but I feel like there is a real lack of nature oriented shit. I mean we got some parks, woods, caves, lake but still something seems missing. Grass is always greener I suppose.

I've just been through there, never spent any time. I will be down there for the NE08 gathering this summer though. I've been meaning to get down there for a few years and finally am not busy w/ school.
I'm not even sure where Columbus is.
Is that near the lake, or is that Cleveland?
Or Cincinatti?
Why are all your cities starting with C?
