Nothing in my field yet at all.
I may be fleeing the country for 12 or 16 months come July/August, so I'd hate to get locked into something serious now just to quit in a few months.
And I probably make more at my night job de-icing planes at the airport here in Milwaukee than I would doing entry-level geology anyway. I'll likely wait until I get my Masters to seek gainful employment.

Good idea. What does an entry level job pay ya?
I'm looking at '35-45k' a year. 
But we will see in 3 years when I graduate how accurate those numbers are.

25-30 is what they tell you, but I honestly haven't seen anything like that that is entry level here. Once you have a few years of experience it jumps up pretty quickly though.
Location also matters too. I'm from Chicago and if I was looking for a job down there, pay automatically jumps up 8-10K.
But I think I'd probably lose money w/ cost of living and transportation costs.
I know little or nothing about Ohio. (If that is in fact where you are.)

I have couple friends who live in Chicago(area)...but yea I don't think Ohio is very expensive to live in. Then again I have yet to really live on my own(I got rent to pay but my parents are still around and what not)
Ohio's not bad, but I feel like there is a real lack of nature oriented shit. I mean we got some parks, woods, caves, lake but still something seems missing. Grass is always greener I suppose.

I've just been through there, never spent any time. I will be down there for the NE08 gathering this summer though. I've been meaning to get down there for a few years and finally am not busy w/ school.
I'm not even sure where Columbus is.
Is that near the lake, or is that Cleveland?
Or Cincinatti?
Why are all your cities starting with C?

Cleveland's on Erie. Columbus is in the middle-ish. Cincinatti is on the Ohio River right across from Kentucky.
I first name starts with C as well. Got a problem with it?!
I hope to make it to NE08. I mean it's only 40 minutes away from my house.

I could come for a day for sure I'm just not positive about the entire weekend. Are day trips allowed? I've never been to a gathering.
You probably could walk across the lake..... but It would be a long ass walk. I've heard of snowmobiles going across but I've also heard of snowmobilers breaking through the ice and drowning.

You could totally come out for the day. Nobody would care at all.
I was just curious if the lake was frozen over all the way or not.
There's almost no ice on Lake Michigan this year...

Well I am in Columbus for the majority of winter because I go to school in Columbus. I'm from Cleveland though.
Erie is the most likely yo be walked across though because it is the shallowest. And Cleveland gets hit with the worst lake effect snow known to man kind. Apparently Cleveland has an average of 202 cloudy days a year.

In all honesty, I'm going to follow the job offers
I would love to be on a coast be it west or east. I've never been to the west so I need to check it out at some point. Oceanic life is fucking awesome.
You thinking of moving to Canada or something? You never said but you said you were leaving soon or something.

I might join the Peace Corps. My geology background is in groundwater and I speak decent French and don't have any responsibilities, so I thought I wouldn't mind spending a year and a half in SE Asia someplace...
But that's extremely tentative. I need to get my head above water w/ these student loans first.
